Freshman Profile Survey
This survey is administered to new First-Time-In-College (FTIC) students who enroll at USF in the fall term.

Fall 2004 (N=1,241)

Introduction

The Freshman Profile survey is coordinated by Planning and Analysis, Office of Decision Support.

The purposes of this survey are to: a) collect information from incoming freshmen regarding admissions experiences to use for process improvement, b) collect information to produce a profile of new First-Time-In-College (FTIC) students, and c) collect information that can be used in longitudinal studies of student satisfaction, retention, and performance. The Freshman Profile Survey is administered to incoming FTIC freshmen in the fall of each year.

Specific topics covered by the survey included interest in other schools, assessment of contacts with the University prior to enrollment, images of USF, educational goals of FTIC freshmen, expected needs for various types of services, interest in extra-curricular activities, and demographic and lifestyle information not available from the University's student database.

More information on the survey can be obtained from Dr. Charlene H. Herreid, Coordinator of Statistical Research, in Planning and Analysis, Office of Decision Support.
